A short press release in the context of the "Organic Ecosystem" project informs that the Lebanese parliament has approved the law no. 158 "Regulation of organic production", published in the Official Journal on 14 May 2020.

The law aims to put Lebanese production standards into practice in order to have a monitored product and the consumer protected and ensured that the same product meets all the requirements of organic production, providing at the same time transparency at every stage of production until the end of the supply chain. Compliance with the production rules requires control over all its stages, and operators are subjected to a control system entrusted to recognized Control Bodies in a precise legal context.
