ISMEA: the first note on organic products for 2013

<div align="justify">In November 2012, prices of organic products at the source in Italy have generally increased , mainly due to eggs, cereals and dairy products.<br>Always with reference to the prices at the source, organic versus conventional recorded in the month under review a trend with more inflation, as in the segments of fruit and vegetables, durum wheat and cattle. In other sectors, such as wheat and eggs, it happened the opposite.<br><br>At consumption level, prices of main products at supermarket levels showed a lower increase in relation to the price at the origin, mainly due to the contribution of fruit and vegetables, meat and eggs.<br><br>Prices of direct sales in November 2012 showed a tendency to increase, mainly due to the increase recorded by eggs and, once again, by fruit and vegetables. Meanwhile, the latest available data for the first ten months of 2012 show that domestic consumption of packaged organic products in supermarkets increased by 5.9%. The most evident increases are reported in the sector of cereals and oils.
