The Commission implementing Reg. (EU) 2021/181 of 15 February 2021 “amending Regulation (EC) No 889/2008 laying down detailed rules for the implementation of Council Regulation (EC) No 834/2007 on organic production and labelling of organic products with regard to organic production, labelling and control” has now been published in the OJ series L 53/99 of 16 February 2021. The new regulation extends until 31 December 2021 the period of application of the exceptional production rule allowing the use of non-organic pullets for the production of eggs not older than 18 weeks, and provides for the possibility to use a limited percentage of non-organic protein feed for pigs and poultry also for the year 2021. These rules became necessary due to the postponement of the date of application of Reg. (EU) 2018/848 and of Reg. (EU) 2020/464. In addition, Annexes V and VIII have been amended in accordance with EGTOP’s determinations.
This Regulation shall apply from 1 January 2021.
