Published in the Journal of Applied Ecology.  1. The benefits of organic farming to biodiversity in agricultural landscapes continue to behotly debated, emphasizing the importance of precisely quantifying the effect of organic vs. conventional farming.

The main objective of this methodological toolkit is to aid farmers and technicians to better understand the principles and/or mechanisms that underlie the resiliency (or lack thereof) of farming systems and how agroecological management can enhance the capacity of farmers to adapt to unpredictable and severe climatic variability.

The loss of biodiversity in agricultural landscapes has been dramatic over the past few decades with negative trends persisting. Organic farming has received widespread recognition in the scientific and politic fields for its environmental benefits, although the proportion of land cultivated organically is still small and the extent to which organic farming contributes to the promotion of biodiversity is viewed controversially.
